What is the time zone for the virtual meeting? 
All meeting times are listed in Central Time.

What virtual platform will ESTECH 2021 use and how do I receive the system requirements?

The conference will be hosted on the Webex platform. When you join an event you can either download the Webex app or join through your browser. You can also go to and enter the meeting number that will be displayed on the event webpage. To view more details on how to join one of the events please click here. During our events you are encouraged to use your webcam to participate in open networking before each session begins. To view the system requirements for your computer click here.

When will I have access to the virtual conference session and networking event platform?
The virtual event webpages will launch on Monday, May 3. You will receive an email from IEST the week before with all the necessary information.

How will I receive access to the training courses I registered for?
The week before classes start you will receive an email from Webex with a link to access the classes for which you have registered. You will also receive an email directly from IEST with directions and the same information. 

How will I receive my course materials for the training courses I registered for?

The week before classes start you will receive an email from IEST with a PDF of the course material. If there are any technical documents associated with your class, you will receive an email from Techstreet to access and download those documents. You will need to create a user name and password on the Techstreet IEST Bookstore webpage to access the documents. Please make sure to use the same email as the email that you used to register for the class.

How do I log into the virtual conference session and networking event platform? 
To access the virtual platform web pages, you will need to know your login (username and password) for the IEST website. If you do not know this information, you can use the “forgot your password” link. If it says that you don’t have a username, it is possible that you need to activate your account.

Will conference sessions be recorded to access later? 
Yes, the conference sessions will be recorded. You will receive an email after the conference when they are available.

How can I access the conference session presentations?
If you registered for the conference sessions, you will have access to download the presentations for a limited time. Details on how to access the presentations will be emailed to you after the conference.

What are the networking opportunities?
There are many ways to connect with fellow attendees during the conference. Opportunities range from discussions in our IEST Connect Lounge, open webcam networking before each session begins, virtual pictionary, and a networking happy hour. You can also participate in the Virtual 5K Run/Walk!  

Is there an attendee code of conduct? 
Yes. Please read the IEST Virtual Meetings and Training Code of Conduct to ensure the best experience for all attendees. 

Is there a dress code? 
No, but please make sure what you wear is appropriate for online learning and networking.

Can I follow the conference on social media?
Yes. The official event hashtag is #ESTECH2021. Use it to follow what attendees are saying and share top takeaways with other professionals. Tag IEST using our respective handles: @IEST_standards for Twitter; @iest_standards for Instagram; and @InstituteofEnvironmentalScienceIEST for Facebook and LinkedIn.

Will the IEST Working Group meetings still be held during the conference?
Working Group meetings will occur virtually the week prior to or after ESTECH so attendees may fully participate in the conference. Working Group chairs will send meeting information to Working Group members. Will the 2021 IEST Award Recipients be recognized this year? 
Yes. Technical award recipients will be recognized during the General Session on Wednesday, May 5.
