Purpose. The Journal of the IEST is the official publication of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology. Established to advance knowledge through technical papers selected by peer review, the Journal is and has been published for more than 50 years as a benefit to IEST members and the technical community at large. This permanent record of progress in the science and technology of the environmental sciences is of archival quality and non-commercial in nature.

Scope. The Journal of the IEST contains technical articles and reports on simulation, testing, modeling, control, current research, and the teaching of the environmental sciences and technologies. The editorial content covers contamination control, environmental laboratory and field-testing and evaluation, reliability assessment and evaluation methods, environmental instrumentation and measurements, environmental effects, environmental and safety standards, computer applications, and other topics.

Mission. To support the pursuit of knowledge, the advancement of technology, and the creation of pathways of communication in the environmental sciences.

The online Journal of the IEST contains peer-reviewed technical papers and complimentary Tech Talk articles related to the fields of contamination control; design, test, and evaluation; and product reliability. Your Journal of the IEST subscription or IEST membership includes the current Journal of the IEST and access to the Journal of the IEST archive volumes from 1985-current.
