IEST "Flatten the Curve" Virtual 5K Run/Walk 
Complete before 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 7
Although we’re not walking the conference halls this year, you can still get your steps in during ESTECH/EDUCON. Join IEST’s "Flatten the Curve" Virtual 5K Run/Walk! To participate, post a picture of you running or walking with your 5K finish time on Instagram using the hashtag #IEST5K and tagging @iest_standards by 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 7. Every person who posts a photo with the hashtag will be entered into a 5K raffle drawing (prizes include a flip belt, running socks, clip-on LED light, and a steel water bottle). If you don’t have an Instagram account, please email hswink@iest.org your picture with your final time. It will then be posted to IEST’s Instagram account.

As the original equipment manufacturer of the Angle of Attack sensor that caused the Lion Air and Ethiopia Air fatal accidents, Bill Kunik led a team supporting both Boeing 737Max aircraft accident investigations. While investigating these highly visible tragedies, his team had to sidestep internal management oversight and significant media exposure to develop a fact-based root cause to support independent investigators in America and Indonesia. Kunik will share how an industry partner can support such work while grappling with internal organizational pressures of legal liability, company reputation, information control, and attempts from the media to cull information from the organization and team members. Read more.
