IEST's Virtual Meet-up Program

Many of us are “on” all day and don't have the opportunity to meet up like we used to.  IEST is here to help!  Grab a snack and your beverage of choice and join your fellow members and colleagues for our Virtual Meet-Ups, informal one-hour conversations about hot topics or current issues, with some months dedicated to open networking.  The IEST Virtual Meet-up dates and topics will be posted online as they are scheduled. You'll get to connect with peers to learn, ask questions, network, and provide feedback on hot topics and current issues.

Members and Subscribers have free access to our virtual meet-ups.
Members also receive access to all the archives of the virtual meet-up recordings as a member benefit.

Panel Discussion: Women in Technology & Engineering at IEST
Connecting Women in the Industry
April 23, 2025
12 - 1 p.m. Central Time

IEST, the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology, is launching a new initiative that will focus on core topics within the environmental sciences and technology community as they relate to women in the industry. Women are often underrepresented in technology, science, engineering and standards-development. The goal is to provide female members of the technical community an opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions, provide feedback, mentor new professionals, recognize women through technical awards, and learn from the experience of other women in the industry.  Our hope is that this community continues to grow to help today's women leaders and future leaders to thrive as we look to advance the standing of all women in the profession, to empower each other to be our professional best, to motivate each other in our leadership goals and to offer support through personal and professional transformations.

We will kick-off this initiative with a panel discussion where participants will hear from some of our female leaders (all past Presidents of the IEST Executive Board) as they share their journeys, challenges, and secrets to success. While women represent over half the global population, they are often underrepresented in technology, science, engineering and standards-development.  Join the conversation to ask questions, exchange ideas, provide feedback, and share and learn from the experience of other women in the industry.  During the discussion we will determine if there is an interest in having additional future conversations and gatherings throughout the year.

Moderator: Anne Marie Dixon-Heathman, Cleanroom Management Associates (LinkedIn Profile)
Panelists:
- Jan Eudy, Consultant (LinkedIn Profile)
- Jennifer Galvin, DuPont (LinkedIn Profile)
- Julie Jennings, Lockheed Martin (LinkedIn Profile)

Key Highlights:
- Hear varying perspectives of the role of women in the industry over several decades.
- Discuss experiences and how to excel as a female in a typically male-dominated industry
- Share anecdotes – funny or serious – about challenges and successes
