Is there an attendee code of conduct?
Yes, we have a Code of Conduct for our meetings and specific information for virtual meetings. Please read the IEST Virtual Meetings and Training Code of Conduct to ensure the best experience for all attendees.
Is there a dress code?
No, but please make sure what you wear is appropriate and comfortable.
Can I follow the conference on social media?
Yes. The official event hashtag is #EDUCON25. Use it to follow what attendees are saying and share top takeaways with other professionals. Is the Working Group Summit in-person or virtual?
The Working Group Meetings are in-person only. Training course attendees and Working Group Online registrants all receive access to attend Working Group meetings.
What are the current U.S. Travel Requirements?
- According to U.S. Department of State guidelines, all members of the “working media, press and radio” should apply for an I visa, including those from Visa Waiver Program countries. Click here for more information.
- Those eligible to travel from a Visa Waiver Program country must complete the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) to be approved for travel to the United States. Click here for more information.
- Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved travelers upon arrival in the United States. Visit the CBP website for a list of countries eligible to participate in the Global Entry program. Click here for more information.
- As of April 1, 2016, all those traveling under the VWP must have an e-passport. An e-Passport is an enhanced secure passport with an embedded electronic chip. Click here for more information. Click here for more information.
- Beginning May 7, 2025, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security required all Americans to present REAL ID-compliant licenses (or acceptable alternatives such as a U.S. passport) to board a domestic flight. International delegates will not be affected, as valid passports are compliant. The U.S. Travel Association encourages all Americans to start planning now.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation requests received 60 days or more prior to the start of the event will receive a full refund LESS a $75 administration fee. Cancellation requests received 30-59 days prior to the start of the event will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellation requests received less than 30 days prior to the start of the event. Virtual training courses: No refunds for any reason will be issued after course instructions and materials have been sent to attendees. Registrations are transferable to another person for the same event. A $35 transfer fee applies. Transfer of a member registration to a nonmember registration will be charged the difference in fees. IEST reserves the right to charge a 5% administrative fee on additional transactions arising from customer order errors and a $40 fee for non-sufficient fund checks or credit card charge claims in error.
Which training format should I sign up for? Virtual or in-person?
Virtual training and in-person training have benefits for both options see below for which one you may find works best for you.
Virtual training benefits:
- Less expensive due to no travel costs
- You will not need to take time away from your office and home life
In-person training benefits:
- Opportunity to network with other professionals in an in-person setting
- Less distractions for learning
Training Courses: How will I receive my course materials for the training courses I registered for? The week before classes start, you will receive an email from IEST with a PDF of the course material. Also, all in-person and virtual training course attendees will receive access to the recordings of the training courses after the conference. They will not be available for purchase, however.
Virtual Training: What is the time zone for the virtual training courses? All meeting times are listed in Central Time. Click here to view a time zone converter.
Virtual Training: What platform will be used for the virtual training courses, and how do I receive the system requirements? The training classes will be hosted on the Microsoft Teams platform. When you join an event you can either download the Teams app or join through your browser. During the events, you are encouraged to use your webcam to participate in open networking before each session begins. View the system requirements for your computer.
Virtual Training: How will I receive access to the virtual training courses I registered for? The week before classes start you will receive a calendar invite email from IEST with the Microsoft Teams link to access the classes for which you have registered. You will also receive an email directly from IEST with directions and the same information.
Virtual Training: Will virtual training courses be recorded to access later? Yes, the classes will be recorded. You will receive an email after the conference when they are available.
