What is new with EDUCON this year?
EDUCON 2023 is a hybrid event this year. Training classes will be offered both in-person and online. Many Working Groups will also be meeting in-person this year to go over IEST Recommended Practice updates.

Will courses be recorded to access later?
Yes. You will receive an email after the conference when they are available.

What is the difference between attending a class in-person and virtually?

Attending an in-person training offers several benefits compared to virtual attendance:

  • Face-to-face interactions allow for more meaningful connections
  • Live demonstrations enhance the learning experience
  • Reduced distractions and digital interruptions allow for a more fully immersed learning environment
  • Informal, chance encounters on-site can lead to valuable insights and knowledge sharing
  • Being in a different environment can help break routine and boost productivity

Virtual attendance does offer advantages such as the convenience and cost savings, but in-person training can provide a better learning experience.

Is there an attendee code of conduct?
Yes, we have a Code of Conduct for our meetings and specific information for virtual meetings. Please read the IEST Virtual Meetings and Training Code of Conduct to ensure the best experience for all attendees.

Is there a dress code?
No, but please make sure what you wear is appropriate and comfortable.

Can I follow the conference on social media?
Yes. The official event hashtag is #EDUCON23. Use it to follow what attendees are saying and share top takeaways with other professionals. Tag IEST using our respective handles: @IEST_standards for Twitter; @iest_standards for Instagram; and @InstituteofEnvironmentalScienceIEST for Facebook and LinkedIn.

Is the Working Group Summit in-person or virtual?
The Working Group Meetings are in-person only.
