ESTECH/EDUCON 2020 (Virtual Conference) Frequently Asked Questions

Has the conference programming changed and when will it be finalized?

The combined conference will follow the programming originally scheduled for ESTECH/EDUCON 2020 in October. The program is available now but the schedule is subject to change.

Since this is now a combined ESTECH/EDUCON virtual conference, did the registration fee change?

Yes. You may find the updated registration fees here.

Will the 2020 IEST Award Recipients be recognized this year?

Yes. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Is there a virtual expo?

Yes. All exhibitors will provide video presentations on their products. You will then be able to speak to the exhibitors during live virtual Q&As throughout the four days of the conference.

Will there be any networking opportunities or a new member meeting?

Yes. A new member orientation, one-on-one connections between attendees and exhibitors, and other unique networking will take place online. Stay tuned for details.

Can I earn any IEST Learning Path Certificates during the virtual event?

All of the previously scheduled ESTECH/EDUCON courses that qualify toward earning IEST Learning Path Certificates will continue to be held, but will be delivered virtually.

What virtual platforms will I need to use?

We will use a variety of platforms and will share details with registered attendees as the conference draws near.

Will the IEST Working Group meetings still be held during the conference?

No. The previously scheduled Working Group meetings will occur virtually the week prior to or after ESTECH/EDUCON so attendees may fully participate in the conference. When the Working Group meeting schedule is finalized, it will be posted online and shared with Working Group members by the Working Group chairs. Question or need more information? Please contact Jenn Sklena at technicaldept@iest.org.

I already registered for ESTECH/EDUCON and plan to participate in the virtual format. Will I receive a credit or a refund for the difference between the in-person rate that I paid and the new virtual rate?

Yes. Credits or refunds will be done automatically. If you paid by credit card and the transaction was processed more than 6 months ago, you will receive a refund check. Any questions regarding credits or refunds can be directed to Mara Douvris at mdouvris@iest.org

I am no longer able to participate. Will I receive a refund for my conference registration?

IEST will issue a full refund to individuals who registered for the conference prior to June 30, 2020, but who are no longer able to attend due to the date change. Refunds may be requested by contacting Mara Douvris at mdouvris@iest.org prior to August 1, 2020 (the regular registration/cancellation policy will apply after August 1, 2020).  For anyone who registered after June 30, the regular registration/cancellation policy will apply.

What should I do if I made hotel reservations for the original conference dates of April 27-30, 2020, or the new conference dates of October 5-8, 2020?

All hotel reservations in the original April room block were canceled and refunds were issued. If you have made a new reservation recently, please contact the hotel to cancel. If you made your hotel reservation outside the room block, you will need to contact the hotel directly to cancel your room. The phone number for the host hotel is (651) 292-1900.

I am no longer able to exhibit. Will I receive a refund for my exhibitor booth?

You may request a refund or transfer your reservation to an ESTECH 2021space by contacting Susan Stamatkin at sstamatkin@iest.org before August 1, 2020. After August 1, regular cancellation policies will apply.
