This Recommended Practice (RP), IEST-RP-DTE045, will address the issue of developing Long Term Dormant Storage (LTDS) testing when incorporating Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) parts into electronics units required to survive many years in the field. The focus will be on developing a test protocol to assure that adequate testing is performed to simulate a field lifetime and provide confidence that the COTS parts will survive.
The first edition of
Long Term Dormant Storage is under development by Working Group 045 of the IEST Design, Test, and Evaluation Division (WG-DTE045).
