This course provides a review of what constitutes Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and how best to use it, as well as highlights of the latest updates in the field. This class is useful for those beginning a screening (production test) of products as well as those who want to know the latest advances. There will also be a comparison between ESS and HALT/HASS.

This Recommended Practice (RP), IEST-RP-PR001, supersedes the Environmental Stress Screening of Electronic Hardware (ESSEH) Environmental Stress Screening Guidelines for Assemblies (1990). This RP provides an overview of the techniques and considerations needed to define a viable Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) program. It uses language that can be used by the military, government, and commercial communities alike.
