The Institute of Environmental Science and Technology’s (IEST) first priority is the health, safety, and well-being of everyone. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this virus and the caregivers working tirelessly on the front lines of this crisis. We continue to track the developments around COVID-19 and take appropriate action to lessen the impact the virus may have on the communities we serve.

Headquarter Operations, Contacting IEST Staff
In response to the crisis and to protect the health and well-being of our staff and members, IEST is instituting remote work-from-home for staff.  We will remain fully operational and you may continue to reach us by email and phone.

In-Person Events and Training
As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, we will continue to make decisions about all IEST in-person training and networking based on the guidance of health authorities.

The CDC’s standard recommendations for the general public to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases like COVID-19 are as follows, which include hand and respiratory hygiene:

- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

- Stay home when you are sick.

- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
