The Unseen Contaminant: Taking Charge of Electrostatic Contamination in Cleanrooms
FC10-CESD (.6 CEUs)
Instructor: Larry Levit
(bio)
Sponsor this course

Electrostatic forces occur naturally in everyday life, in all settings. These invisible fields are typically ignored unless the effects are a nuisance or are destructive. In the cleanroom, however, electrostatic forces contaminate the environment in some ways not normally considered. A practical knowledge and conscious effort must be employed to control and minimize these forces to avoid unexpected, negative cleanroom performance, equipment failures, and product destruction. This course provides the student with a thorough, practical understanding and approach to recognizing, measuring, and minimizing harmful electrostatic force contamination in their own cleanrooms.

Are you prepared for the New ISO 14644?

October 27-28 may be your last opportunity to attend IEST’s authoritative training courses prior to the release of the new Draft International Standard (DIS) versions of the air cleanliness benchmarks: ISO 14644 Part 1: Classification of air cleanliness and Part 2: Specifications for testing and monitoring to prove continued compliance with ISO 14644-1. The upcoming publication of the DIS stage standards is vitally important –it marks the first stage that the revised standards may be used as a trade reference per agreement between customer and supplier.

To help ensure your organization is aware of the potential impact and new requirements, IEST will present a newly updated two-day certificate course on the ISO 14644 standards that will include three individual continuing education training courses on October 27 and 28 that can be taken as part of the series or as stand-alone classes. The certificate courses will feature a comprehensive review of the current standards and their future direction.
